The Problems In Business Which The Capstone Flavor Management System Solves:
Business Operational Inefficiencies
- The restaurant chain was having problems with integrated systems for operational functions such as: reservations, ordering, inventory, and staffing.
- The paper based reservation system created situations where reservations were booked twice, and some were not booked at all.
- Tracking stock with spreadsheets resulted in emergency supply runs due to discrepancies in the quantity of stock held.
- Staff scheduling on paper posted at each outlet made changes impossible.
Customer Experience Problems
- There was no existing system which permitted clients to make online reservations, neither could they see the tables they are booking visually.
- Order placing capabilities were limited.
- Customers had difficulty locating the nearest restaurant.
- Experience provided in the five branches was not the same, some customers received substandard services.
Management Oversight Problems
- There were no central system for operation control in all five branches.
- Inventory information updates were not available in real time to other restaurants.
- Staff members din't have a central system they can use to check their work schedules remotely.
- There was no efficient method to monitor business performance.
Security And Compliance Problems
- There were a need to secure payments made using the internet.
- Employee access to scheduling details had to be restricted, yet remained easy to obtain.
It is my honor to declare that I have successfully done my capstone project which is a complete restaurant management system for Capstone Flavor (a fictitious company) This web application has changed the way a continually growing restaurant chain with five locations operates by consolidating numerous fundamental business processes into one single platform.

• The system has included an interface for ordering online which gives customers the chance to customize menus.
